Octomore 14.3 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 61.4% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Octomore 14 series, The Impossible Equation, and was distilled from 100% Islay barley grown on Octomore Farm, two miles away. Its peat level is 214.2 ppm. Head distiller Adam Hannett matured it in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks, chosen so that the wood works with the spirit without dominating it. The nose is soft, biscuity malt with peat smoke, apricots, peaches and honeyed pears. On the palate, oak and smouldering peat meet gorse, honeysuckle, creamy porridge and vanilla. The finish is malted barley and earthy smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
