Octomore 15.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 57.9%. It is made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, harvested in 2017 and distilled in 2018, with a peating level of 108.2 ppm.
The whisky matured on Islay in a mix of American oak, French red wine and Cognac casks. It was bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose is sweet lemon, lime zest, lemon meringue tart and lightly toasted oak. The palate is velvety, with vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and freshly ground black pepper. The finish is clearly maritime, with waves of earthy smoke.
