Octomore 16.1 (70cl)

Octomore 16.1 is a single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, part of the distillery's super heavily peated Octomore series. This is batch 16.1, with a very high phenol content. It was matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks of American oak, and is bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration and without added colouring. The nose brings heavy peat smoke, sea salt, vanilla, toasted oak and lemon zest. On the palate it is rich and oily, with peat, sweet malt, vanilla cream, coconut, black pepper and citrus. The finish is very long, smoky and maritime, with vanilla and minerality.
