Octomore 17.1 is a 5 year old heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, and the 2026 release in the seventeenth Octomore series. It matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels, and is bottled at 59.7% in a 70cl bottle with a metal tin. It is non-chill-filtered and free of added colouring.
It is made only from Concerto barley grown on the Scottish mainland, malted to 81.0 ppm phenols.
The nose opens with sweet malt and vanilla custard, then peat embers, sea air, citrus peel, green melon and toasted coconut. On the palate vanilla, pear drops and malt syrup meet salt and earthy smoke, with a thick texture. The finish is long and increasingly dry, with minerality, peat smoke and warm embers.
