Octomore 17.2 is a five-year-old heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 59.5% in a 70cl bottle without chill-filtration or added colour. It is made from Concerto barley from the Scottish mainland, taken from the same malt batch as Octomore 17.1, and the malt measures 81.0 ppm. It matured on Islay in French oak that previously held Californian red wine and then bourbon, followed by a finish in first-fill port barriques. This combination had not been used at Octomore before. The nose offers ripe red fruit, raspberry, blackcurrant, Turkish delight and dry wood smoke. On the palate, wine-poached berries meet peppery, earthy peat, with lemon peel adding freshness. The long finish moves from raisins and toasted oak to sea salt and charred wood.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
