Old Carter Bourbon #65 13 Year Single Barrel (75cl, 61.5%)

A thirteen-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from single barrel #65, bottled at barrel strength of 61.5% ABV (123 proof) in Frankfort, Kentucky. The barrel produced 133 bottles, and it was bottled uncut and non-chill filtered. Old Carter Whiskey Co. is the project of Mark and Sherri Carter. They do not run a distillery; they select mature Kentucky whiskey and release it as it comes from the cask. Sherri labels each bottle by hand, writing the barrel number, bottle number, ABV and proof on the front. The nose offers dark caramel, vanilla bean, seasoned oak and brown sugar, with dried cherry and warm baking spice. The palate is full and powerful, with toffee, dark fruit, charred oak and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming, with oak and spice.
