Old Carter Single Barrel #21 is a 14-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Carter Whiskey Co., founded by Mark and Sherri Carter, who also created Kentucky Owl. It is a distillery-exclusive bottling from the 2022 14 Year series, drawn from a single barrel.
It was bottled straight from the cask at barrel strength, 61.6% ABV, and is non-chill-filtered. Only 152 bottles were filled in the 750ml size, each labelled by hand by Sherri Carter.
The nose offers deep caramel, dark chocolate, toasted oak, leather and dried fruit. The palate is rich and oily, with toffee, cinnamon, charred barrel and dark cherry, and the finish is long, with barrel spice fading to dark fruit.
