This is a 13 year old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Carter Whiskey Co., the project of Mark and Sherri Carter, who also created Kentucky Owl. It comes from barrel #93, bottled at barrel strength of 60.5% ABV (121 proof) and non-chill filtered, in a 75cl bottle. Sherri hand-labels every bottle. It is described as a 2022-era release.
The nose offers dark caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, dried fruit, leather and warm baking spice. The palate is rich and layered, with toffee, cinnamon, charred barrel and dark cherry over an oily mouthfeel. The finish is long, oak spice fading to dark fruit and a warming sweetness.
