Old Elk Wheat N' Rye is a blended American whiskey from Old Elk Distillery in Colorado, created with Master Distiller Greg Metze. It belongs to the distillery's Master's Blend Series. The blend brings together a 7-year-old straight wheat whiskey and a 6-year-old straight rye whiskey, each made from a mash bill of 95% of its grain. It is bottled at 54.2% ABV (108.4 proof). The nose shows honey, caramel, toasted grain, baking spice and light citrus. The palate is rich and layered, with toffee, vanilla, cinnamon and peppery rye spice over a creamy wheat base. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness, spice and gentle oak.
