Old Elk Wheated Bourbon is a bourbon bottled at 46% ABV, made from a mash bill of 45% wheat, 51% corn and 4% malted barley. Greg Metze, the master distiller at MGP, is behind it.
The spirit is cut slowly to keep the delicate flavours, then proofed down over weeks rather than days. It has been aged for a minimum of 5 years.
The wheat brings a rich mouthfeel, while the corn's natural sweetness comes through alongside light vanilla from the barrel.
