Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond (50%)

Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, aged seven years in oak and bottled in bond at 50% ABV. The mashbill is 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. Bottled in bond means a single distillery and a single distilling season, ageing in a bonded warehouse and bottling at 100 proof. The brand dates back to 1870, and Heaven Hill acquired it from Diageo in 1999. The nose has caramelised brown sugar, honey, toasted oak, baking spices and dried fruit. The palate is soft and buttery, with vanilla, toffee, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon and late toasted almonds. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, caramel and a touch of leather.
