Old Forester 1897 Bottled in Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). It marks the U.S. Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, so it comes from one distillation season, one distiller and one distillery, and has spent at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse. It is the second release in the Old Forester Whiskey Row Series. The idea of 'sealed in quality' was something Old Forester introduced in 1870, as America's first bottled bourbon. Robust, intense caramel leads the aroma. The palate brings rich vanilla, roasted coffee, spiced dark fruit and mature oak, and the finish is big and bold, with deep fruit, spice and oak over dark caramel.
