A Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Forester, aged for 10 years in charred new American oak barrels and bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Its mashbill is 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley, a departure from the higher-rye recipe of the brand's standard releases.
The nose opens with fudge and cocoa, then marzipan, cured tobacco, oak and cinnamon, with a note of apple cider. The palate is dessert-like, with chocolate-covered graham cracker and cinnamon, and oak adding tannin. The finish is medium to long and warming, with cinnamon, toasted graham cracker and a drying, slightly cocoa-dusted close.
