A 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Forester, released on 2 September 2021 in a 750ml bottle. Birthday Bourbon appears once a year on that date, the birthday of founder George Garvin Brown, who established Old Forester in Louisville in 1870.
Each edition is a small batch of 12 year old barrels chosen by the master distiller, and the barrel selection and proof differ from year to year.
The nose is caramel, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, baking spice and a warm grain sweetness, and the finish is long and warming, with oak and caramel fading cleanly.
