Old Forester The 117 Series Prohibition Era Still Proof Batch 001 (37.5cl, 65%)

This is Batch 001 of Old Forester's 117 Series Prohibition Era Still Proof, a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 65% ABV (130 proof) in a 37.5cl bottle. It was released in December 2025. The strength recalls the proof at which Old Forester distilled during a 100-day window granted in 1930, when permit holders were allowed to replenish stocks of whiskey bottled as medicine during Prohibition. The 117 Series is the distillery's experimental small-batch line. The nose is dark caramel, brown sugar and vanilla with charred oak and cinnamon. The palate is bold and full-bodied, with dark fruit and toasted wood, and the finish is warming and long with caramel, spice and oak.
