Batch 001 of Old Forester's 117 Series is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 59% ABV (118 proof) in a 37.5cl bottle. It is the first Triple Char release in the series.
The barrels were charred three times as long as Old Forester's standard barrel profile, which is where the flavour comes from. The whiskey was distilled and bottled by Old Forester Distilling Co. in Louisville, Kentucky.
The nose offers rich caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, dark cherry and baking spices. The palate is full and layered, with brown sugar, dark fruit, cinnamon and roasted nuts. The finish is lingering oak and baking spice with sweet caramel.
