Old Forester The President's Choice Straight Rye is a single-barrel rye whiskey hand-selected by the President of Brown-Forman. Each barrel is bottled at its natural cask strength, uncut and unfiltered, so the strength varies from barrel to barrel.
The mash bill is 65% rye, 20% malted barley and 15% corn, and the whisky is aged in heavily charred new American oak.
The nose offers rye spice, dark cherry, toasted marshmallow, cinnamon and saddle leather. The palate is powerful and layered, with black pepper, caramel, nutmeg, baked apple and burnt sugar. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with dark chocolate, clove and citrus peel.
