Old Pepper Finest Kentucky Oak is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from James E. Pepper, given a second maturation in heavily toasted barrels.
The barrels are made from Finest Kentucky Oak staves, which were air-seasoned for 18 to 24 months. This is meant to release more flavour from the oak into the already matured whiskey, giving a full-bodied and complex rye.
It is bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered.
