Old Perth 13 Years Old 2004 – Number 2 Release (70cl, 43.8%)

Old Perth 13 Years Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Morrison & Mackay, the Number 2 release in a limited batch. It combines malts distilled in 2004 at Macallan and Highland Park. It is bottled at 43.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 620 bottles produced. The nose is dense and complex, with Demerara sugar, rum-soaked raisins, dried figs, dark chocolate and honey, then deeper notes of pipe tobacco and old leather. The palate is full-bodied, chewy and oily, with black cherries, plums, sultanas, cocoa, coffee, clove, ginger and a little malted peat. The finish is long and warm, with dry oak, molasses, ginger in syrup and bonfire smoke.
