Old Pulteney 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Pulteney Distillery in Wick, Scotland, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was established in 1826.
The whisky is matured for twelve years exclusively in air-dried, hand-selected ex-bourbon casks, which bring vanilla and oak to the spirit alongside a briny undertone.
The nose combines sea air, gentle salinity, green apple and honeyed cereal. On the palate, early sweetness gives way to salted caramel, citrus zest, mild pepper and dry vanilla. The finish is medium to long and warming, with a lingering briny note.
