Old Pulteney 18 Year is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Pulteney Distillery in Wick, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle.
It is distilled from un-peated malted barley in copper pot stills with worm tub condensers. The whisky matures in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. It won its category for Highland single malts aged 13 to 20 years at the World Whiskies Awards 2024.
The nose is chocolate, vanilla and honey, with citrus, apple and a saline thread. The palate brings honeyed spice, Christmas cake and coastal brine. The finish is long, with pepper, ginger, orange peel and nougat.
