Old Pulteney 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Wick, on the Caithness coast, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in ex-bourbon and Spanish oak sherry casks.
Sherry-cask fruit and sweetness meet a subtle salty edge, a character the sea air and cool coastal climate are said to shape.
The nose has dried fruit, sherry, honey and toffee, with a hint of sea air. The palate is rich and rounded, with raisin, orange peel, baked apple, spice and a touch of sea salt. The finish is long, warm and gently drying, with sweet oak and a lingering coastal note.
