Orphan Barrel The Gifted Horse is an American whiskey linked to the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Kentucky. It came about by accident, when a batch of 17-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon was mixed with younger whiskey.
The nose shows apple skin, almond, toffee, raisins and a little milk chocolate. On the palate there is creamy caramel, Bosc pear and fruit cake, and a splash of water brings out the fruitier notes.
