A Tasmanian single malt from Overeem, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It was matured in a 100 litre ex-bourbon cask made of American oak.
The cask had a heavy toast and char treatment during coopering, which gives this release more complexity than earlier Overeem bourbon cask bottlings. It is likened to light summer fruits, charred meats and toasty campfires.
Coconut, banana and molasses lead the nose, with vanilla, caramel and a nutty edge. The palate has coconut and pineapple, burnt vanilla, citrus, caramelised banana and toasted oak. The finish is medium, with toffee apple, charred oak, light spice and coconut.
