This is a Tasmanian single malt from Overeem, matured in sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, 60% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines cocoa, dark chocolate, charred oak, burnt toffee, rum-soaked raisins, cinnamon, almonds, sweet spice and Christmas cake. On the palate there is sweet spice, stewed dark fruits, maple syrup, caramel, shaved almonds and fruit cake, with plums and hazelnuts also noted.
The finish is long, with lightly charred almonds, subtle cocoa and stewed dried fruits.
