Paddy is a triple-distilled Irish blend made in County Cork, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. Its roots go back to 1779, and the name comes from a salesman, Paddy Flaherty.
The blend combines grain whiskey, single malt and single pot still whiskey, and it is matured in oak barrels. The grain whiskey is there for sweetness, the malt for fruit and the pot still for spice.
It is typically described as light and crisp, with honeyed malt, vanilla wafer, green orchard fruit and gentle wood spice.
