Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Year Old is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, here the 2008 release made entirely from Stitzel-Weller distillate. It is aged for 20 years, bottled at 45.2% ABV (90.4 proof) by Old Rip Van Winkle, and sold in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky is dark amber with an orange cast. The nose is described as oiled leather, smoke, minerals, coffee and cigar boxes. The palate is full-bodied, with citrus zest, sherry notes, dried fruits and vanilla, and the finish is long and elegant.
