Pearse The Original is a blend of malt and grain Irish whiskey, aged for a minimum of five years and bottled at 43% ABV. It matures in ex-bourbon barrels from Town Branch in Kentucky, and it is non-chill filtered.
Some of the malt whiskey comes from Pearse Lyons Distillery's own copper stills in Dublin, which were imported from Kentucky.
The nose is slightly citrus with a wisp of smoke, mellow malt and light honeyed fruit with floral undertones. The palate is light, smooth and easy, with a hint of spearmint warming to semi-sweet chocolate, light oak, creamy vanilla and light caramel. The finish is mild, malty, crisp and well balanced.
