Pearse The Original, Batch 12, is a blended Irish whiskey combining malt and grain whiskey, bottled at 42% ABV. It is the entry-level expression in the core range of Pearse Lyons Distillery.
The whiskey is drawn entirely from ex-bourbon barrels, with stock about three to five years old.
Honey toasted oats, lemon sherbets and dry grass lead the nose, with toasted oak, nutmeg, malt and vanilla behind. On the palate, spice runs through milk chocolate and caramel shortbread, with a flash of spearmint among ripe apples and dry oak. The finish is creamy vanilla and buttery malt.
