Peat's Beast Cask Strength PX Finish is an intensely peated single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 54.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition and is un-chill filtered.
The whisky is finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry wood.
Tasting notes describe a dense, damp smoke on the nose, with herbal peat, medicinal TCP and seaweed, then burnt sugar, molasses, figs and ripe dates from the sherry cask. The palate is thick and oily, with peppery peat, black pepper and a warm layer of candied dark fruit, raisins, clove, vanilla and buttery caramel. The finish is very long, with milk chocolate, rum and raisin ice cream, stewed plum and toasted oak.
