Penderyn – Celt (70cl, 40%)

Penderyn Celt is a Welsh single malt in the distillery's core range, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines light peat with citrus. The whisky is distilled in Penderyn's Faraday copper pot still. It is first matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in peated quarter casks, which are smaller and give more wood contact. The nose has light peat smoke, fresh citrus zest and green apple, with coastal notes and a little vanilla. The palate is gently smoky, with lemon and orange, malted barley sweetness and light oak spice. The finish is medium in length, with smoke, warming spice and crisp citrus.
