This is a 10 year old Welsh single malt from Penderyn, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the 13th release in the Icons of Wales collection and a limited edition, inspired by Bad Wolf, the Cardiff-based television production company.
The whisky was matured in European oak for 10 years, then finished in tawny port casks.
The nose has orange blossom, rose petals, fruitcake, raisins, fig jam and ripe berries. The palate has stewed dark fruits, orchard fruit, toffee, marzipan and bittersweet marmalade, with some saltiness. The finish is long, with dried apricot and salted caramel dusted with nutmeg, ending dry.
