Penderyn – Serpent's Tears (70cl)

Serpent's Tears is the first peated single malt from the Penderyn Lloyd Street distillery in Llandudno, North Wales. It takes its name from the Great Orme, a headland that once looked to Norse longships like a great serpent rising from the sea. The nose has dry autumn leaves, orchard fruits and wood smoke, with creamy undertones and hints of toasted bread. The palate balances sweet peat with vanilla cream, baked apple, sugared pancake edges and subtle spice. Clove and pepper add warmth, and the finish carries barley sweetness and soft peat.
