Penderyn The Village is the fourteenth release in the Icons of Wales series, a Welsh single malt made to mark 100 years of Portmeirion in North Wales. It was released in 2026. Portmeirion was built as a village with Italian-inspired architecture, and the whisky is finished in Amarone casks as a nod to that. The name also refers to the television series The Prisoner, which was filmed there.
It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no colour added.
The nose brings ripe fruit and oak spice, with vanilla, cocoa, fine honey and lightly toasted oak. The palate is velvety and full, with red berries, ripe plums, honey sweetness and a floral note. The finish is long and warming, with candied fruit, spicy oak and a trace of grape tannin.
