Penelope Toasted Straight Rye is a straight rye whiskey in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle, bottled at 50% ABV. It is made from 100% rye.
The whiskey is first matured fully in charred new American oak barrels. It is then finished in a new, freshly toasted barrel. The toasting varies from barrel to barrel, so each bottle in the Toasted Series can differ in its balance of char and toast. The toasting is said to add deep notes of vanilla to the distillery's usual flavour profile.
