Piper-Heidsieck Extra Dry is a Champagne from the Reims house, made with a dosage of 15g/L that gives a rounder, more generous style than a Brut.
The blend is 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay, with around 25% reserve wines. It is made by the traditional method, ages on its lees for at least 24 months, and rests a further six months after disgorgement.
On the nose there is roasted peach, blood orange and pineapple, with a hint of coconut. The palate is soft, with peach, honey and brioche held by lively acidity. The finish is medium, with toast, pastry and a faint honeyed note.
