Pittyvaich – 1979 25 Year Old Duncan Taylor is a whisky from Pittyvaich (Speyside). Aged 25 years, bottled at 49.4% ABV, 70cl. Pittyvach was a utilitarian-looking distillery which was built purely for commercial purposes and was Arthur Bell & Sons’ response to the sudden leap in the brand’s fortunes in the 1970s when it became Britain’s top-selling blend. The firm already ran the Dufftown distillery and so in 1975, erected a shed next door and installed two (eventually four) stills inside. By the end of 1980’s Pittyvaich was considered as surplus to requirements. It closed in 1994 and was demolished in 2002. Duncan Taylor & Company presides over the ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of Scotch whisky casks. Though the company’s origins lie in Glasgow as a whisky merchant and broker, its headquarters are in the North East of Scotland - close to Speyside - and it has complete control of the entire production process; from cask selection and management, through “in-house” product and packaging design to its own “under bond” bottling facilities. About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
