Plantation One Time Fiji 2009 2022 Rum (70cl, 49.5%)

A limited-edition rum from Fiji, distilled in 2009 from molasses in a pot still after four to five days of fermentation. It spent ten years in American bourbon barrels at the distillery, then three years in Ferrand casks at Maison Ferrand. The outturn was limited to 25 casks. Dosage is 3 g/l and the ester level is given as 107 VC 342. The rum is bottled at 49.5% vol. in a 700 ml bottle. On the nose it is fruity, with pastry, floral and herbal notes, banana, French toast and almond. The palate is fresh and balanced, with bitter orange, tropical fruit and spice. The finish is long, with plenty of spice and refreshing mint.
