Plantation Single Cask Barbados Very Special Old is a rum from the limited-edition Single Cask series, bottled at 44.9% vol in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and aged for several years in ex-bourbon barrels, then matured further in France in Ferrand Cognac casks before a final finish in port casks. Each cask is bottled individually.
The nose offers ripe banana, toasted coconut and vanilla with dried fruit and light spice. The palate brings caramelised pineapple, honey and baking spices against gentle oak and nutty notes, and the finish is smooth, with lingering tropical fruit and sweet spice.
