Planteray Fiji 2009 Kilchoman Cask XO (70cl, 55%)

A single cask aged rum from the Rum Co. of Fiji, distilled in 2009 and bottled at 55% vol. in a 700 ml bottle. It is limited to cask #10 of 18 and was aged in three stages: nine years in bourbon casks, two years and four months in Ferrand casks, then four years and six months in Kilchoman peated whisky casks. Dosage is 0 g/l. The rum opens with ester-led aromas, balanced peat, subtle smoke, herbal rum pot notes, dark chocolate and marzipan. The palate brings herbal liqueur notes, peat, toast, liquorice and bittersweet flavours, with a dry, herb-sweet and lively finish.
