Planteray Mister Fogg Navy Rum Sail No. 2 Barbados (70cl)

Planteray Mister Fogg Sail No. 2 is a navy-strength rum blended by Maison Ferrand's team under master blender Gabriel Bougoin, in a 70cl bottle. The Mister Fogg series is inspired by British naval rum, which was a blend rather than a single origin, and draws on rums from Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, Mauritius and Jamaica. The blend rests in open-air wooden vats near the River L'Antenne in the Charente, an attempt to recreate the oxygenation of the old London dock warehouses. Sail No. 2 carries 4.8 g/L of burnt sugar cooked in a copper kettle in Barbados. The nose offers vanilla, cherrywood, blueberry pie, cinnamon bun, banana pudding and sugared berries. The palate is rich, with honeysuckle and spices.
