Pōkeno Exploration Series 'Triple Distilled' is a New Zealand single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 49% ABV. The barley comes from three family-owned farms on the South Island.
After the first run, the final two distillations take place in a 3600-litre spirit still. Only the heart of each run is kept, about 20% of the total, and the spirit is matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The nose is rich honey and vanilla with hints of citrus and toffee. The palate brings vanilla bean and butterscotch, sweet citrus and a touch of pepper and clove. The finish is long and rich.
