Pōkeno Single Cask #0412 PX Sherry Cask New Zealand Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is a single cask New Zealand single malt from Pōkeno Distillery, distilled on 30 April 2019 and bottled on 10 August 2022 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 880 bottles. The whisky matured fully in a first-fill bourbon barrel, then spent a further six months in a PX sherry butt from Miguel Martin. The barley comes from three family-owned farms on the South Island. On the nose there are ripe cherries, Christmas cake and dark chocolate. The palate combines sweet citrus and vanilla with sherry richness, and the finish carries fruit and sweetness.
