Port Askaig 10 Year Old Toasted Special Edition is a ten-year-old Islay single malt Scotch whisky, matured in toasted casks. The toasting heats the inside of the wood, which adds caramel, vanilla and grilled-wood character alongside the peat of the spirit.
On the nose it shows smoke, peat and toasted wood, with vanilla, caramel and a light maritime touch. The palate is full and warming, with peat, smoke, caramel and spice on a round texture. The finish is long, smoky and woody, with a little sweetness.
