Port Askaig 16 Year Old 2008 Hogshead Itineraires Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 54.2%)

This is a 16 year old Islay single malt from the Port Askaig range, matured in a hogshead and bottled at 54.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The spirit comes from Caol Ila, the distillery closest to the harbour that gives the range its name. Port Askaig was created in 2009 by Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh of Elixir Distillers. The whisky is described as coastal and gently smoky, with sea spray and peat alongside fresh fruit and a soft, pastoral note.
