Port Charlotte 10 Year Old is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is distilled, matured and bottled on Islay from Scottish barley, with the peat level given as 40ppm.
It is aged in a mix of first-fill bourbon, second-fill bourbon and French wine casks.
The nose combines maritime smoke, sea salt, lemon peel and grilled pineapple, with vanilla and warm oak behind. The palate is oily, with smoked barley, honeyed malt, clove, black pepper and a little citrus. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with ash, oak char and lingering spice.
