A 10 year old Port Charlotte, bottled by Bruichladdich on Islay at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is not coloured or chill-filtered.
The nose is dominated by dry, earthy smoke leaning towards ash, softened by sea spray, zesty ginger and wild herbs. Caramel, vanilla custard, nutmeg and clove follow. On the palate, vanilla custard spreads over the tongue with pineapple, ripe apple and sweet apricot, plus coconut and honey, with salty, maritime smoke over the top. The finish is medium in length, with plenty of dry smoke, fresh oranges, mango, overripe bananas and freshly ground coffee.
