Port Charlotte 10 Years is a peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is peated to around 40 ppm and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
The vatting is 65% first-fill and 10% refill ex-bourbon casks, with the remaining 25% from former French wine casks. Smoke is balanced by sweet fruit.
The nose brings earthy peat smoke, dry ash, wood, caramel, ginger and nutmeg. The palate is soft and smooth, with sweet smoke, coconut, vanilla cream, lemon, honey and a maritime note. The finish is medium in length and smoky, with sweetness and flavours of orange and mango.
