Port Charlotte Heavily Peated Islay Barley 2014 (70cl, 50%)

Port Charlotte Heavily Peated Islay Barley 2014 is a single malt from Bruichladdich, made entirely from barley grown on Islay. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, and it follows the balance of fruit and smoke that Port Charlotte is known for. The nose opens with malty notes of digestive biscuits and dying embers, followed by vanilla, honey, toffee and crème brûlée. With time, lemon rind and peat smoke appear, then grapefruit, ripe melon, peach and crisp red apple. A maritime note sits alongside wood spice, nutmeg and cinnamon.
