Port Charlotte PC8 Ar Duthchas is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a cask strength of 60.5% abv in a 70cl bottle. It is the last of the PC series, distilled in 2001, the first year Port Charlotte was made at Bruichladdich.
The whisky matured in American oak barrels and was bottled in 2009 at eight years old.
The nose brings sea spray, peat smoke, pepper and lemon, with heather, myrtle, sweet oak and malted barley. The palate is viscous, rich and oily, with peat fire and sweet, oaky Demerara sugar.
